Jimmy John’s E. coli Outbreak News – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), state public health officials, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are continuing to investigate a multi-state outbreak of E. coli O103 infections linked to clover sprouts served by Jimmy John’s restaurants.
Jimmy John’s E. Coli Outbreak Information – Update
In furtherance of the February 26, 2020 announcement, the FDA has analyzed a sample of clover sprouts from Chicago Indoor Garden and confirmed the presence of E. coli O103. Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) further confirmed that the bacteria found in the sample matched the outbreak strain.
As the FDA’s investigation of the Jimmy John’s E. coli outbreak continues, the FDA will trace where the implicated sprouts have been distributed and will keep monitoring for any additional illnesses related to the Jimmy John’s Outbreak.
